WTF??
Do these people have hobbies or lives? WTF is wrong with these parents? How can they support themselves and this habit? How does one morph into a size of a house? Is that why they can't leave it after 10 years?
Remember my previous rant about my kid being too scrawny? Is this how they want me to raise her??
The problem with the old Chinese thinking stems from a belief that fat people represent the rich while the peasants are thin from tilling the rice fields. Fair and lovely skin is symbolic to being beautiful and blessed with prosperity; whereas, tanned and weathered faces are synonymous with being outdoors all day foraging for food.

What's interesting (and I've witnessed this personally) is that for people who get that stomach reduction surgery, there's something like a 50% divorce rate after the surgery. You take away the gut and the weight, but you don't take away the psychological reasons people were overeating in the first place. So, post-surgery, you still have a dysfunctional twit who now thinks they're Colin Firth.
