$@#$%@!!!!

Okay, I was revelling earlier this week for putting my dolls up on ebay. So proud of displaying my work in the public forum and believe it or not, it's good enough for me. I've even learned a little bit about some of the consumer buying perspectives through these online counters available via ebay/andale.

It's been an interesting learning process.

HOWEVER...I decided to do a general ebay search for origami dolls and what did I find?

Some f--king decrepit being actually COPIED my fluffy adjectives - elegant, charming, etc. Damned schmuck could've just waited till my listings ended before putting her effortless cutouts on the web. She's sold some of her stuff before, but for whatever the crazy reason, she's decided to put up 6 dolls for sale. Based on the craftmanship alone, you can't compete with me...ARGHH!!

Shee-it. Timing is everything. She's probably the one watching my items just to see if I get any dibs.

Sam's Blogworthy Response to My Ebay Listings

Hey you are actually killing 2 birds with 1 stone. You get to make your
origami pieces AND you get to write the fluffy blurb that goes with it.
I just read some of your "ads" on your below link and I got a big kick
out of it. It's so you. "this ravashingly delightful doll was made
with minute precision and handpainted with painstaking detail so that
you may enjoy the wonderous wonders of this gorgeous and unbelievably
beautiful doll, and all for 9.99."

Goddamit, I'm using this marketing pitch for the NEXT set of dolls and she's not gonna get a cent from the sale proceeds.

LMAO!!!!! Now that's a great way to start my morning!

Gone And Done It

Finally did it. It was a painful lesson and process, but I did it. With my anal project management skills ingrained to my cells, it's a wonder why I procrastinated an entire year before doing this. I had already anticipated all of these bumps in the road prior to taking any action. Maybe it's the pessimist in me or simply put, a well-thought out plan or course of action is never really a simple task (for me).

My Ebay Listings

Making the dolls was the fun part. Taking pics, resizing and enhancing them took some time to master. Then uploading the information to ebay with my firewall blocking the traffic (it took 2 hours to figure this out) drove me insane. Then having to come up with corny marketing description. Oh goodness, where were my schmoozy skills at 12AM?

I'm really not at all that interested in the sales or the money-making aspect involved - of course, it's a NICE bonus! It's more about crossing out an item on my To-Do list which has been sitting there for such a long time.

So...the shaker peg coat rack is coming up next.

Love Is In The Air

Phone rings at 7PM, I go and pick it up.

Me: Hello?

Miki: Mommy? Why are you home? How come you're not at work today?

Me: Mommy's busy with house work honey. Are you ready to come home now? I can pick you up right now if you're ready.

Miki: Uh no. I'm drawing at grandma's house. I want to finish it.

Me: OK then. I'll have daddy come and get you later.

Miki: Okay mommy. I love you.

Me: I love you too.

Miki: I lo-URP!

Me: Ewwww!

Miki: Sorry mommy. I burped so, so, very loud! I URP! YOU MOMMY! HAHAHA! That's soo funny!

Me: I LOVE you too, not burp you.

Miki: I'm so funny. I burp so loud because I ate so much for dinner!!!

Me: Alright then, I'll talk to you soon.

Miki: [Belches] I LOVE YOU TOO!!!!!

Me: Aiyah.
