More Developments re: Tsunami Song
More News...
There was also a rally yesterday where people were circling around the Hot 97 office headquarters protesting against the DJ host and the atrocities related to the devastation. The turnout was pretty good about 200 folks with various council members attending as well as organizations from NAACP and so forth.
Now, had this been the other way around, in terms of race; NY would've seen a massive outbreak of the Rodney King incident along with the looting, rioting and carjacking.
So...regardless of Miss Jones future, whether she continues to remain on their payroll or be removed, the radio station in itself should be entirely dropped. By allowing a member of their own organization to play such a heinous song repeatedly without any attempt to reprimand her disgusting behavior says enough. Had it not been for the public's outcry strengthened by news reporting, the whole incident would be probably have been dismissed.
After all, shit comes from above.
Unfortunately, a predominant trait that Asians tend to lose their vertebrae when injustice is done on them. If there wasn't an Asian council member presiding now, the likelihood of this issue be addressed would be nil. Without a leader, there would be no bandwagon for the eager supporters to jump on. Efforts are valiant, but scattered about.
